About Steve Bailey

A Certified Journeyman Carpenter, a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, over thirty years experience in the industry and a reputation for being a hard working and honest businessman… Steve Bailey continues his legacy as Sudbury’s finest tradesman.

The proprietor of Steve Bailey Construction has a wide range of experience in the world of construction. He has worked at a drawing board in the world of design and is a carpenter. Steve spent four years in the Architectural Science Program at Ryerson University in the seventies and then began his career designing and building.

As a designer he worked on custom homes, residential renovations, industrial buildings, shopping centres, retail and grocery stores. When not working in the design field Steve worked in construction learning the carpenter’s trade and how to actually get stuff built. Eventually Steve earned a Bachelor of Technology in Construction Management studying part time and his Trade Certificate as a General Carpenter.

On the construction side of the building business Steve worked as a carpenter, superintendent, estimator and project manager for several different companies on commercial, industrial, institutional and residential building projects.

In the eighties Steve struck out on his own as a general contractor and successfully ran Carshan Construction Limited for a number of years. Looking for a change of pace he fell into teaching Apprentice Carpenters in the Trades program at Cambrian College in 1992. This eventually led to a Bachelor of Education (1996), a Teacher’s Certificate and 10 years of teaching high school students.

Throughout his years of teaching Steve continued to design and build projects with an eye on one day returning to the construction business full time. In 2007 Steve decided to return to his first love – working as a carpenter, actually building, renovating and repairing.
