New Windows

This was the back wall of a home. The owner decided to renovate the basement of this home and wanted to have the downstairs feel like part of the house, not a finished basement.

The installation of these new windows required exterior and interior structural work. The end result is a "basement" that looks like anything but a basement.

Innovative Thinking
and Environmentally Sound Practices

Running an eco-friendly business means more then just adopting new innovative technologies; it involves combining these new resources with fresh thinking and a commitment to minimize one’s ecological footprint. It is this commitment, along with a drive to explore new products and methods that has put Steve Bailey Construction on the leading edge of the industry.

Steps that this company has taken to minimize their ecological footprint include:

  • Using quality materials, like ceramic tile, that will last more then a lifetime
  • Incorporating the latest developments in recycled materials
  • Helping homeowners make decisions on building energy efficient housing
  • Utilizing new technologies such as structural insulated panels and insulated concrete formwork that reduces the amount of lumber used in a project, and results in more energy efficient homes
  • Using more eco-friendly materials such as water based paints and sealers
  • Using exactly what is needed for a project thus minimizing waste and then returning “left over materials” whether it is economical or not.
  • Minimizing trucking of material whenever possible

Waste Policy

Before anything is placed in a dumpster, the following questions are asked:

  • Can this be used somewhere else on the job?
  • Can it be used on another project in the foreseeable future?
  • Can someone on the job, either the homeowner or someone the homeowner knows, make use of this material?
  • Can it be donated to the Habitat for Humanity Restore?

If the answer is ‘No’ to all of the above then:

  • All debris and garbage is sorted into recyclable piles, such as cardboard, plastics, glass and metals, organic materials (brush, trees, etc.) and trucked to the recycling depot
  • All solvents and hazardous materials are disposed of at the Hazardous Materials Depot
  • Only after all of the above steps are completed does construction debris become landfill

“Taking responsibility for the environment means adopting modern green practices that minimize our ecological footprint. These steps are more then just environmentally sound – they are good for business.”
